Internet research

I found these images on Google by searching  movement in photography. I picked these photos as i liked the look of   them as I believe they showcase movement very effectively. Most of these examples are mainly focusing on a central subject in the frame , they also mostly have one object in motion whereas the rest of the image is static. In one of the photos there is an object that is not moving however i believe it evokes a sense of movement as it is a item that people associate with moving, i plan to apply to this one of my photos as i could capture a object that people associate with motion. This could be a vehicle or  person as both are capable of moving. I picked most black and white examples as i thought this were the most appealing and as we will be shooting in black and white film i wanted to see examples using the fact the images are black and white to their advantage and see successful examples so that i could try to replicate the effectiveness of the photos.

One of one artists to showcase movement in their contemporary and historical was Eadweard Muybridge these are examples of his work. He made these by taking a series of continuous shots and laying them along aside each other. This showcases very cleverly that the subject has moved position , which i believe is very effective and the one i believe shows this the best is the one that has the dancer as the subject of the photo.

Library
In the library i found a book which included many images , i found many which showcased movement very creatively and these are the photocopied images from the book:

These were taken from the fotolog book, i chose these photos as i thought they showcase movement best as most have motion blur as a key aspect of the image as most examples are central in the frame. The one that does not it makes the audience move there view to match the direction of the object. These photos are very colorful and vibrant which makes the, attract the attention of the viewer, this makes the image successful. Movement can mean a lot of different things to a lot of people , to me it means a change in scenery or a different place and i believe this is represented very well in these images. Most of these photographs are taken in a street scene and i believe this was done on purpose as when people think of transport they straight away think of the streets as this is where people see transport the most, this enforces the idea and theme of movement.
